Youth

Life as a teenager can be both rewarding and challenging. Our community is a place for youth in grades 6 - 12 to belong and grow in faith as we journey through those ups and downs together. We believe God has great things in store for you.

Youth Acolytes and Lectors

These leadership roles are wonderful opportunities for youth to serve in worship during the celebration of the Eucharist. Youth Acolytes and Lectors enrich the lives of our community during worship services here at St. George’s. If you would like to learn more about this ministry or how to be involved please contact Sadie Zoradi.

Confirmation

The catechism describes confirmation as "the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop." Our confirmation program for youth runs from September through May, concluding with the bishop's visit at the 8:45am service in May. Our youth traditionally prepare for confirmation in the 7th grade, but we welcome older students who have not yet been confirmed.

At least one parent needs to be a member of St. George's prior to registering their child for confirmation. If you are interested in church membership, please contact Rebecca Teel, Parish Secretary | 615-385-2150 x 213 or rebecca.teel@stgeorgesnashville.org

Please review this packet before registering online here.

The Choristers of St. George’s

The Choristers of St. George’s program is for children and youth from 3rd through 12th grades. Using the Royal School of Church Music curriculum, the program is designed to develop discipline, leadership, and focus while learning music in a friendly community environment. Choristers sing regularly during Sunday morning services, Choral Evensong, and special concerts with the adult choir. In 2019, our Choristers will be the resident choir for a week at historic Ely Cathedral in the United Kingdom.
