A Little Advent Quiet
Saturday, December 9
10:00am - 12:30pm in Hampton Hall
Women are invited to come hear and imagine the beautiful promise of the season. Be refreshed amidst the swirl. This quiet half-day retreat begins at 10:00am with refreshments in Hampton Hall followed by worship in the Chapel. We will use a traditional form of Ignatian imagination prayer which allows participants to reflect on the unfolding story of Scripture aided by their own imagination and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. There will be time for individual journaling or reading, and the retreat will conclude at 12:30pm after Eucharist.
Moms' Bible Study
Wednesdays
9:00 - 10:30am in Akers Hall (upstairs)
Led by the Rev. Sarah Puryear
This fall, we’ll study Women of the Gospels to see how their example of life and ministry can encourage us today. Our time together will include fellowship, conversation, and prayers. This group is a great way to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and get connected with other women in a similar season of life. Join us when you can, invite a friend, and don’t be afraid to arrive late or leave early. Childcare is available by advanced reservation. Contact Sarah Puryear to learn more.
Women's Bible Study
Thursdays, September 7—November 30
9:30 - 11:30am in Dandridge Hall (upstairs)
Led by Leslie Overby and Breck Wheeler
This season, we’ll work through The Gospel on the Ground: The Grit and Glory of the Early Church in Acts. Come along with biblical culturalist Kristi McLelland in this 7-session study as she unpacks the life of the early church in the book of Acts through a Middle Eastern lens. The Gospel on the Ground is the story of how Jesus’ message of hope and reconciliation began to spread from Jerusalem into the world. Along the way we’ll learn that the kingdom of God is always on the move, offering purpose and joy to those longing for true fulfillment. And we’ll come to understand the part we are meant to play in the redemptive story God continues to write in our lives today.
Walk in Love
Every Thursday
9:15am at Warner Nature Center (7311 Hwy 100, Nashville)
This is a contemplative stroll among friends. We begin with one sentence of Scripture to ground our reflection, walk for a few minutes of companionable silence, then we are off into the beautiful woods of Edwin Warner Park. Join us at Edwin Warner Nature Center on Highway 100, rain or shine. We will walk for about 45 minutes on paved roads—strollers welcome!
Daughters of the King
Second Sundays 9:00am in the Bride & Family Room (downstairs)
The Daughters of the King is an Episcopal Order for women based on a simple “Rule of Life” including prayer, service, and evangelism. We pray daily for the needs of others, we serve at St. George’s and in the community, and we seek to commend our faith to others in our lives. New women are always welcome to our meetings.
