One or two volunteers are needed in the St. George’s Bookstore each Sunday morning from 9:00 to 11:15am, especially during the program year (August – May). Volunteers will receive a brief training to be familiarized with the bookstore inventory and credit card machine. In addition, volunteers are often needed during special events including holiday services and special programs.

The Boulevard Bolt is a collaborative effort of Immanuel Baptist Church, St. George’s Episcopal Church, and The Temple in Nashville. The Bolt ranks among the largest 5-mile races in the country with over 8,500 participants and has donated $2,750,000 to the homeless community in Nashville. The efforts of many people make the annual race possible. Volunteers are needed for registration, set-up, tear-down, and many other tasks.

We care for and connect with those in our parish family who are unable to be with us for worship and other weekly activities. These men and women are often homebound or in nursing facilities. Connecting could be as simple as a visit, a phone call, or a card each month.

Chefs on Call
This ministry meets in the church kitchen the first Saturday of every month to prepare a choice of casseroles that are frozen for the urgent or chronic needs of our church family and friends.

There are countless volunteer opportunities for parents and other adults in our Children's Ministries. Volunteers may serve on a parent commitee, participate in a Mom's in Prayer group, take photographs, make materials, assist or lead a Sunday School class (called Catechesis of the Good Shepherd), lead Children's Chapel, coordinate art projects, and coordinate annual special events.

Farmers Market Hosts
St. George’s Farmers Market runs each spring and summer on Thursday afternoons, 3:30 – 6:00pm. Our mission is to host a high-quality, producer-only farmers market that enriches the lives of vendors and consumers, the local food economy, and community life in Belle Meade and surrounding neighborhoods. The Nashville Fellows Program
The Fellows Program seeks to help young adults prepare to integrate their faith with their calling in the workplace. Adults can volunteer to mentor a fellow, host a fellow in their home, help find intership placements for the fellows in a variety of careers, or help with the application process as we discern who God is calling to be a fellow at our church.

Based on Romans 16:12, this ministry arranges up to 6 meals for parishioners who, for whatever reason, would be blessed by a hot meal delivered to their home. Volunteers always needed to occasionally provide a meal or help arrange deliveries.

Room in the Inn
Room in the Inn is a non-profit organization that coordinates housing and meals for homeless people in Nashville during the winter months. St. George’s participates in this initiative by hosting 12 guests on Tuesday nights November through March. A tremendous number of volunteers are needed to help coordinate transportation, meals, overnight hosting, and behind-the-scenes support for these guests. Sign up online to volunteer this season.

Seniors Helping Others
This group offers one-time volunteer opportunities through the year that benefit various ministries of St. George’s or outside organizations. As a volunteer, you can select the type of project and time that fits your schedule. In the past, we have put together bags of items for Room in the Inn guests, made card for the girls at Our Little Roses in Honduras, and created palm crosses for Palm Sunday worship.

St. George's Enterprise Ministry (SGEM)
The St. George's Enterprise Ministry (SGEM) was formed as an expression of St. George's successful Living Waters Campaign in response to the devastating 2010 flood. Ten percent of the funds raised weredesignated "to invest in a new mission inititiative that would bless the Nashville community and seve as a catalyst for future St. George's ministry opportunities and relationships outside the parish."
