Welcoming New Staff
The Easter season is always a joyful time at St. George’s with baptisms, confirmations, and celebrations of our graduating seniors as they prepare for young adulthood. In the midst of this exciting time of transition, we write to share some exciting news about clergy staff transitions.
The Rev. Sarah Condon has joined our staff as Priest Associate for Women’s Ministries. You may remember Sarah as our engaging speaker from the women’s Lenten breakfast this past February. In this part-time role she will be forming the women of St. George’s in their faith through thoughtful events and learning opportunities, as well as occasional Sunday preaching. Sarah is a regular contributor to Mockingbird, an organization connecting the Christian faith with the realities of everyday life through written reflections, podcasts, and more. She is an alumna of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale and previously served as Chaplain/Missioner at Rice University. She is married to the Rev. Josh Condon, Rector of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, and they are parents to Neil and Annie.
We look forward to welcoming the Rev. Zachary Berry to our staff in mid-June. Zach recently completed his studies at Duke Divinity School and will be serving at St. George’s as a curate—a role designed for those newly ordained to gain practical experience in parish ministry. As a curate, Zach will take part in all aspects of church life while developing his skills in leadership, pastoral care, preaching, and teaching. Zach is recently married to Claire, who is also an ordained minister and a fellow Duke graduate. His curacy is a special opportunity made possible through our partnership with the Diocese of Tennessee, reflecting our ongoing commitment to raising up and supporting young leaders in the church.
We know you will join us in offering a warm welcome to Sarah and Zach this summer.
Faithfully,
The Rev. J. Malone Gilliam, Rector
The Rev. Colin Ambrose, Vice Rector & Chief of Staff
