A Letter from the Rev. Samuel Adams

Dear church family,

I am writing to share the news that I have recently accepted a position as Associate Rector at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church in Denton, TX, and will begin there in the coming weeks. My last Sunday at St. George’s will be May 5, and I will start at St. David’s on June 1.

I am very excited about this opportunity in the Diocese of Dallas. St. David of Wales is a warm, healthy congregation that is poised for a season of even greater flourishing and growth, and I’m excited to join in with what God is doing there and in the wider Denton community.

While I am very much looking forward to this new chapter in my life and ministry, I will deeply miss being part of the St. George’s community, and I am overwhelmingly grateful for all the ways God has ministered to me through you all over the last four and a half years. I cannot imagine a more valuable place to begin ordained ministry in The Episcopal Church than here at St. George’s, with not only the great leadership on the clergy and staff team, but also the incredible lay leadership and rich community that makes St. George’s such a bright beacon of Christ’s light in an ever-darkening world. I am immensely grateful for your investment in me as a young priest, and for the blessing and gift of getting to learn, grow, and minister alongside you over the past few years. The foundation laid for my ministry here will pay dividends for the rest of my life. Thank you for your faithfulness to the Gospel, and for the privilege of sharing in ministry with you.

With gratitude in Christ,

Sam
