Pastoral Care

Staying Connected while Staying at Home

Along with staying safe and healthy, clergy, staff, parish leaders, and volunteers will be calling in the coming days to check in and stay connected. Meanwhile, please contact us if you or anyone you know is in need. We'd also love to hear from you if you want to help with meeting some of those needs.

Pastoral Care Visits

We love to care for our parishioners. Do you know of anyone, homebound or otherwise, in need of a pastoral visit? We don’t want to miss anyone.

Hospital Visits

An important part of the church’s role in the community is to provide care in times of need. Our clergy visit local hospitals daily to visit church members in need of prayer, anointing, or a visit.

We who are many are one body because we all share one bread and one cup. Our volunteer team of Lay Eucharistic Visitors brings Holy Eucharist to those who are not able to come to St. George’s for services.

Pastoral Counsel

St. George’s clergy are available to meet with you personally to provide pastoral support and encouragement.  Please contact any of our clergy directly to schedule an appointment.

Partnership with Rev. Billy Cerveny

There has been much conversation in our congregation over recent months concerning the myriad emotional and spiritual issues affecting our members and our community. We are pleased to share that St. George’s has entered into a formal partnership with Rev. Billy Cerveny, who will offer professional pastoral counsel as an important dimension of our overall pastoral care ministries.

For Inquiries & Appointments

To schedule an appointment with Billy, please feel free to contact him directly at or 615-482-4559, or through the Redbird website.

Healing Ministry

God heals. We trust that God yearns for all of us to pray for and experience healing – physical, emotional, relational, spiritual. And we give thanks to God when people do experience healing. It’s not every time we pray, and it’s not always in the ways that we expect. But week after week as we pray together, God comes with healing, freedom, joy, and peace. Week after week, God is healing people we love here at St. George’s.

Intercessory Prayer Meetings

All are invited to come be refreshed through prayer and to pray for one another on Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm in the Chapel. The Rev. Martin Odidi leads these meetings and helps us learn to pray more deeply and powerfully.

Inreach Shepherds

The Shepherds are a volunteer team ready to answer short term needs of St. George’s parishioners—from rides to the doctor or church, to errands, to small household tasks. They "reach in" to smooth out temporary rough spots in times of need.
