The Rev. Zachary Berry
Curate

Zach grew up in Aiken County, South Carolina. The only child of two devout Baptists, Zach was steeped in Scripture and heavily involved in church life from a young age. In 2020, he graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, where he earned his B.A. in Latin and Classical Greek. Zach returned to his hometown during the COVID-19 pandemic and taught Grammar, Latin, Bible, and History at Mead Hall Episcopal School. At the same time, he engaged in a discernment process for ordination in the Episcopal Church.
Zach is a recent graduate of Duke Divinity School and the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies at Duke. He completed his M.Div. in May of 2025, and began his curacy at St. George’s shortly thereafter. Zach is married to Claire, a fellow minister and Duke Divinity alum, and they have two cats, Lilly and Biscuit. In his free time, he enjoys fly-fishing, bait-fishing, reading, cooking, and hosting friends.
