Galatians & Freedom in the New Covenant

One of the blessings of the New Covenant is the freedom that comes from our position in Christ as believers.  But in today’s performance driven world, many of us never break free of the bondage of working and striving to please God and earn His acceptance. And this working and striving affects all areas in our lives whether we realize it or not. God knows and understands this and speaks to us through Paul in this exciting and liberating letter.

Making Sense of Today's World - An Overview of Prophecy

Many of us today are anxious, fearful and confused about events happening all around us. As Christians, it is imperative to know what God has to say about end-time events in order to make sense of the times in which we are living. The good news for us as Christians is that we too can understand the times in which we are living and what we are to do. God has laid it all out for us in Scripture. We have a glorious future and a knowledge of that future will bring encouragement, comfort and joy to us!

Daniel

Daniel is one of the most important and comprehensive prophetic books in the Bible. To Daniel alone was given, in chronological order, the future events concerning the Jews and the Gentiles, from his day (c550BC) all the way to the 2nd coming of Christ. The prophecies given to him form the foundation upon which we build all other prophecies.  An understanding of the prophecies and their interpretations given in Daniel is immensely helpful in understanding those given in Revelation.

Effectual Prayer

Isn’t it amazing that God, the creator of the universe, wants to communicate with us? What a privilege we have as Christians to be able to communicate freely with our God who listens and responds to our prayers. And yet for many Christians, prayer is a struggle. We are going to look at prayer from a biblical perspective. We’ll look at what God has to say about prayer in contrast to what we might think, have been taught, or have experienced. I believe you’ll be amazed at what God says about prayer and what He promises to do in response to those who are faithful to pray.

The Triumphant Church

If you are a believer, you are part of a living body on the earth, the Body of Christ. And no matter how bleak things look from an earthly perspective, Jesus says His Church will triumph. “I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”  (Matt 16:18)  This course looks at the church from a Biblical perspective seeing what God says about the Church, why we are here, what we are to be doing,  our equipping and what the glorious future of the church means for us.

Living a Godly Lifestyle in an Ungodly World

As Christians, most of us struggle with being the people God wants us to be and living out our faith in a way that brings honor and glory to God. Yet God never requires anything of us that He hasn’t already equipped us to do. This course is going to examine the situation we find ourselves in, the causes of our struggles and the means of overcoming these struggles so that we can indeed live out our faith in a way that brings honor and glory to God.

Spiritual Warfare

There is tremendous resistance in the spiritual realm to God’s will being accomplished in your life. There’s resistance to your knowing the truth, communicating with God, living a victorious life, running the race God has for you, and being the kind of person God desires you to be. According to Ephesians 6:12 we are not wrestling with flesh and blood, but against “principalities, against powers, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies.” Natural weapons won’t work against this invisible enemy. We must have spiritual ones. 11Corinthians 10:3-4 tells us “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds:…” This course is about learning to use the weapons God has provided for us to overcome this enemy.

Philippians

Philippians is a book about how to have peace and joy in our lives despite difficult circumstances. Paul uses the words “ joy” and “rejoice” more that 16 times in 4 chapters. Everyone I know wants joy and peace, but most of us go about it the wrong way; we go to God believing that once He changes our circumstances, then we’ll be joyful and serve Him. The problem with this approach is that once one set of problems or circumstances are changed, they are simply replaced by the next set. It seems we’ve got things backwards. We are what needs changing! Only then can we experience the peace and joy of God in our lives….a peace and joy that is totally independent of circumstances.

Covenant

A thorough understanding of what a covenant is, how one works, the various elements that comprise a covenant and a knowledge of the different covenants God has made with man is essential in order for the Bible to make sense. In fact, the words “Old Testament” and “New Testament” in Greek literally mean “Old Covenant” and “New Covenant.” The information taught in this course is absolutely crucial for the time in which we are living if we are going to be the people God has made us to be and do the work God has for us as His Body on the earth. We as Christians must understand who we are “in Christ” and just what this relationship entails.

Understanding the Bible

Everything we believe as Christians from our salvation to our future resurrection depends on the total truthfulness of the Bible. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Bible has always been under relentless attack. As a result, there is much confusion and ignorance today among Christians concerning the Holy Scriptures. Once we have addressed basic questions about the Bible, we will proceed to study how to properly approach, correctly interpret, and apply the Bible’s teachings to our lives.

The Feasts of the Lord

In the Scriptures, God set aside fixed times or appointments for His people, the Israelites, to come together and feast, celebrate and be with Him in a special sense. These feasts are outlined in Leviticus 23. When you take the time to study these feasts in detail, you see astounding things unfold before your very eyes.  All have extraordinary prophetic significance. In fact, the first four have already had their fulfillment in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and then in the giving of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. You will be astounded at the precision and detail with which these feasts are described and celebrated and then how exactly they had their fulfillment. And because the first four feasts had their fulfillment precisely as described, we can be confident the last three which are yet to be fulfilled will too. This is exciting news for us indeed, because through them we can see God’s plan for the future.

Living a Life of Faith

God has given to believers what the scriptures call “exceeding great and precious promises of all things that pertain to life and Godliness” These promises are appropriated or brought into manifestation in the natural realm by faith. Scripture tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. So, what is faith? Where does it come from? What does it do? This course offers a Biblical view of faith with emphasis on Hebrews 11 where we study those God considers great men and women of faith.

Book of Revelation

The Book of Revelation is the only book in the Bible that specifically promises a blessing to those who read, hear, and heed its prophetic words. Therefore, in this course we read Revelation aloud from beginning to end, examining it verse by verse. You will see how events that are unfolding in the world today were predicted almost 2000 years ago. But even more importantly, you’ll see in this last book of the Bible, the culmination and fulfillment of all God’s promises and prophecies from Genesis to Revelation. It is a revealing of Jesus Christ as “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Knowing God through His Holy Spirit

Most of us as Christians have some understanding of God the Father and God the Son, but when it comes to God the Holy Spirit, know very little. And yet, the Holy Spirit is the very One who indwells us. He has a very active and specific ministry here on earth both in us and through us. This course will start at the beginning of the Scriptures and trace the Person and work of the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible, the goal being for us as Christians to come to a more intimate knowledge of this Third Person of the Trinity and learn to hear His voice and follow His leading. This is imperative for all Christians if we are going to fulfill the destinies God has for us in Christ Jesus.
