Aelfric's Readers

Aelfric’s Readers will read The Space Between Us: A Novel by Thrity N. Umrigar for their next meeting on Tuesday, April 8th:

Using turbulent India, with all its social, environmental, and economic problems as a background, author Thrity Umrigar tells a very humanistic tale of love, loss, and ultimately betrayal. Two very different women who, in their struggle to cope with their heartache and sorrow, discover an inevitable commonality, a spiritual unity, even though they are divided by the seemingly insurmountable gulf of money, opportunity and class.

We meet in the Bride/Family Room at 7:00pm. Anyone with questions can call Lynn Terry at 383-6055 or Paula Snyder at 356-5376. Aelfric’s Readers, St. George’s Book Club, is open to all - come join us for some interesting conversation about books.
The book chosen for May is Founding Mothers: The Women Who Raised Our Nation by Cokie Roberts.

Prime Timers

All Congregation Luncheon and Talk
presented by Prime Timers

How the Holy Land Affected our 45 St. George's Pilgrims
Thursday, April 17th, 11:30am

A few weeks ago 45 Pilgrims went from St. George’s to the Holy Land to immerse themselves in the life of Jesus, the places he walked, and the sacrifice he made for us. “We are changed and we want to tell you about it.”

For the April 17th Prime Time luncheon, Pilgrims will show pictures but more importantly tell you how the experiences affected them. There will be photos at every table, dramatic pictures on the big screen, and 1st century oil lamps and memorabilia on the tables. Ten of our Pilgrims will share personal experiences.

Linda Crane, Sally Miller, and Paul Teschan, Pilgrims the year before in 2007, returned to the Holy Land to try to better understand the plight of Christians there. Both in Israel and in the West Bank, the shrinking number of Christians are trying to be faithful under distressing circumstances. Our three will report on their findings and make suggestions about how we at St. George’s may assist these Holy Land Christians.

Attend! Invite your friends! Make your reservations for the $10 lunch at 385-2150 x 262 or reserve@stgeorgesnashville.org by Sunday, April 13th.
