Major EYC Events

Fall Kickoff

The themed annual kickoff is held in early September and celebrates the upcoming year of fun, fellowship, and growing in Christ together. Youth, parents of youth, and all other curious parishioners are invited to come see the youth staff, leaders, and teachers dress up and welcome them back with enthusiasm each year at this energy-packed special annual event!

Winter Ski Retreat

Each year a group of young people heads to the slopes for adventure and has a great time, bus mechanical difficulties and all. This trip is always a highlight of the year!

Mardi Gras Pancake Supper

Pancake supper puts the FUN in fundraising and helps support our youth mission trips. We serve yummy pancakes, sausage, and drinks with a smile. We also help run a carnival for the kids, and everybody has a blast!

Progressive Dinner

At this yummy event, we eat a different course in three different homes while enjoying each other’s company. This year we had s’mores by a bonfire for dessert!

Messy Olympics

We “initiate” and welcome our rising 6th graders by “sliming them” during this afternoon of fun, which follows a morning introductory visit upstairs to the youth area during Sunday school. Shaving cream, oatmeal goo, and other yucky concoctions are part of what everybody wears home!

Senior Dinner

This annual event honors graduating high school seniors and their parents by bringing them together for fellowship at a dinner and giving them a chance to hear some inspirational “thoughts for the road” from the clergy.

Youth Sunday

Each spring, the youth lead a worship service, including the music, sermon, readings and prayers. The sermon is given by either one senior or a group of seniors and offers them an opportunity to share their faith.

Youth Sunday allows the congregation to see God in the faces of the youth and rejuvenates parishioners of all ages!

Listen to Cate Tidwell's or Emily Grant's sermons from Youth Sunday 2007.
