Youth & Children's Choirs

Welcome to the Choristers of St. George’s!

The Choristers of St. George’s are 3rd-12th grade singers who glorify God in worship through the beautiful music of the Anglican tradition. St. George’s is a member of the Royal School of Church Music, and as a regular part of musical training, the Choristers work towards ribbons representing levels of achievement in the RSCM Training Scheme. Outside of our commitment to the English Cathedral tradition, the Choristers choirs enjoy seasonal fun activities, such as ice skating, rock climbing, zip-lining, and laser tag.

The Choristers and Chorister Gentlemen are now in preparation to serve as Choir-in-Residence at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland in July of 2014. Please visit our Scotland informational page here for full details.
The Choristers sing during the program year, normally on 2nd and 4th Sunday mornings as well as several Evensongs and other services and events.

Rehearsal Schedule

Rehearsals resume August 28, 2013!
Our major weekly rehearsal is held on Wednesday from 5 to 6:30pm including a break for snack.
Monday & Thursday we offer 45-minute rehearsals from 3:30-4:15 & 4:30-5:15; we ask families to bring their choristers to one of these extra rehearsals during the week in addition to the full rehearsal on Wednesday.

These smaller rehearsals are an incredibly valuable opportunity for the director to work with individual Choristers, which yields significant results. Many Choristers even choose to attend more than one smaller rehearsal per week, which gives them a tremendous boost in strength and beauty of sound, confidence, and leadership; they are also able to earn RSCM medals more quickly.

Parents please follow this link (coming soon) to register so that we can have emergency contact information on file and so your chorister can join us for fun activities throughout the year. Thank you!

Become a Chorister of St. George's!

We are continually delighted to welcome new Choristers into our midst! We believe so strongly in the work we are doing and are extremely proud of the many benefits our singers receive through their participation. Our Choristers are strengthening musically and spiritually as they learn and internalize the greatest music of the Anglican tradition; this incomparable music stays with them and gives shape to their whole lives. In addition to receiving countless hours of specialized musical instruction, our Choristers become strong leaders and mentors who understand commitment, team dynamics, and the great importance and responsibility of leading the worship of almighty God. Much is asked of our Choristers, and they continue to exceed expectations.

Will you or your children consider becoming part of this holy work? Contact Gerry Senechal to get started. We look forward to having you join us!

St. Dunstan’s Choir

The St Dunstan’s Choir, for first and second grades, follows the Royal School of Church Music training scheme to prepare young singers for the Chorister program once they reach third grade. St. Dunstan’s singers sing in services throughout the year, both on their own and with other choirs. The awarding of RSCM ribbons, when requirements have been met, is an especially thrilling moment for these youngsters.

Rehearsal resumes for St. Dunstan’s on September 22, 2013 and is every Sunday at 11:15am in room 205.
