Supporting Local & International Ministries
St. George's is blessed to be able to support financially many organizations in our neighborhood and around the world. These gifts are determined by a committee of Vestry and church members after reviewing dozens of funding applications each year. If would like to learn more about this process or submit an application for funding, please contact Sandra Beld at 385-2150 x 246.

Opportunities at St. George's
International Students Ministry
Just imagine how you would feel in a foreign country, not being accustomed to the language and the culture! You can fulfill the mission of a private ambassador for a better future when international students experience your warmth and acceptance in the community. Better yet, it is a great way to live out our church’s purpose statement—“receive, live, and share the abundant life of Jesus Christ”—with our international community. Our lives are always enriched by contact with people from other cultures. To learn about the ministry offerings and to sign up, please complete this brief parishioner information and sign-up form.
Families in Crisis: Help Us Help Others
Did you know that there is a special church fund used to help people in need buy food, pay their utility bills, and/or purchase gas? Using the gifts designated for the Rector’s Discretionary Fund, St. George’s priests are able to provide financial assistance for individuals and families who are in crisis. With the recent rise in food and gas prices, more and more people are coming to the church for aid. Will you help us help them? Donations of grocery store or gas station gift cards are also appreciated.
Greeters Needed!
Looking to meet new people? Want to see old friends? Join the Greeter Ministry!
Greeters stand at the Sanctuary doors to greet parishioners and newcomers as they join us for Sunday worship at the 8:45am and 11:15am services. This is a fun ministry that provides you the opportunity to meet your fellow St. Georgians. You will participate at the service you already attend (8:45am or 11:15am).
If you would like to join this vital ministry or learn more about it, contact Malone Gilliam (x 215).
Welcoming Newcomers to the Church
The Newcomers Committee is a group of committed members at St. George’s who strive to communicate God’s love by welcoming visitors and shepherding them in their early days of contact with our church. We need your help to reach out to these newcomers and make them feel welcome!
If you would like to be part of this committee, please contact Leigh Hillenmeyer or Charlotte Ward for more information.
Helping Holy Land Christians
The purpose of this lay-led initiative is to provide tangible evidence that American Christians care about our sisters and brothers who live under significant duress in the Holy Land, and to encourage and support them. We’re doing this through:
- Knowledge through Pilgrimages to the Holy Land
- Scholarships for needy Christian children
- Commerce with Christian artisans and businesses
