Pilate said to him, ‘What is truth?” (John 18.37b-38).
Writing in a recent issue of Books & Culture Magazine, Carlos Eire, Professor of History and Religious Studies at Yale University, reports that 80 percent of the students in his freshman seminar argue that the most dangerous heresy confronting us today is the claim that there is such a thing as “truth.” And these are our best and brightest….
Such a statistic suggests many cultural influences (family, teaching in high schools, popular entertainment industry, peer pressure, ignorance of authentic Christianity or other religious faiths) that give shape to such thinking in today’s young adults.
