An Intemperate and Ill-Considered Letter from a Respected Editor

The December 6 cover story for Newsweek Magazine was entitled, “The Religious Case for Gay Marriage.” I was not particularly surprised by this event. I am under no illusion that major contemporary news magazines present the issues of the day from an orthodox Christian perspective. Besides, the issue of “gay marriage” is clearly before us in the public square. It is a worthy and serious topic for a newsmagazine to cover. I simply would have thought a respected newsmagazine such as Newsweek would make at least some pretense of thoroughness and objectivity.
