Christian Leadership Concepts (CLC)

Big commitments most often yield big benefits. Such is the case with a growing men’s discipleship ministry at St. George’s. The groups, referred to as “CLC Groups,” utilize materials developed
and provided by Christian Leadership Concepts, a Brentwood based organization. Each group is comprised of up to 12 men and covers everything from becoming “a man after God’s own heart” to
learning how to “stand with a friend” to “reforming our community.” Each group is free to establish its own meeting schedule, though most meet together early one weekday morning for 2 hours. The CLC groups are an excellent combination of fellowship, Bible study, in-depth discussions, and developing lasting friendships. If you’re looking for a way to intentionally grow as a man who follows Jesus Christ, you need look no further.

For more information or to register for a group, please contact Larry Trabue (352-0023).

Living in Faith Everyday (LIFE)

In a LIFE group, women learn how to receive, live, and share the abundant life of Jesus Christ. It is a group focused for and about women in Christian leadership. LIFE is not a Bible Study, fellowship group, support group, accountability group, or a prayer group. It is a combination of all of these and more. We learn together, laugh together, support one another, are accountable to one another, and grapple with issues. The curriculum appeals to the mind, heart, and soul. If you can commit your time and effort to learning more about yourself, leadership, the Christian faith, and building relationships, then LIFE is for you. If you are interested, contact The Rev. Marcia King at 385-2150 x 214 ormarcia.king@stgeorgesnashville.org.

Women’s Huddle Groups

A “Huddle” is a challenging accountability group. In a Women’s Huddle we:

  • Hear stories of God at work in the lives of the Huddle members
  • Hear stories of God at work in their missional situations
  • See positive changes in character in response to God’s initiative
  • See skills develop and flourish
  • People grow in self awareness and maturity
  • Laugh, celebrate, and have fun together

The key questions asked are: What is God saying to you at this time? What are you going to do about it? If you would like to be part of forming a new Huddle, please contact The Rev. Marcia King at 385-2150 x 214 or marcia.king@stgeorgesnashville.org.

Daughters of the King

The Daughters of the King is an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, or churches in communion with it, or churches who are in the Historic Episcopate. Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish. Open to all women of St. George's who want to deepen their commitment to Christ as they balance their prayer and spiritual life with action in the church community. For more information, contact Mary Tygret at 646-1816.

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is an international ministry to Christian men and boys in the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion. Founded in 1883 and incorporated by an Act of Congress, signed by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908 and with the sole object to spread Christ’s Kingdom among men.

The Brotherhood’s vision is to strive to develop and equip men and boys for faithful discipleship to affect changed lives throughout the world for the greater glory of God through a Rule of Life exercising the disciplines of Prayer, Study and Service. With chapters throughout the U.S. and Worldwide, we are excited to be offering this valuable new ministry here at St. George’s. For more information on the St. George's Chapter of The Brotherhood of St. Andrew and how to join, contact Evans Clements at 383-7446 or e-mail us at brothersandrewstgeorges@gmail.com.
