What Is Alpha?

Explore the Questions of Life!
Over 13 million people worldwide have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life. At an Alpha course people explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or overnight away. It is low-key, friendly and fun.
Who is Alpha for?
People attend from many different backgrounds, religions and viewpoints. Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death. Still others may have attended church all their life, but feel they never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. You do not need to be a member of St. George’s to attend an Alpha class! Bring your friends!
How much does it cost?
The Alpha course and manuals are free. There is a small cost to defray the cost of dinner at the evening class ($7.50 per dinner if paid in advance, $9.00 if paid weekly at the door).
Is childcare offered?
Childcare care is provided by the church only for families that register in advance. If too few families request childcare for it to be cost-effective, we reserve the right to cancel it and will notify you. Please contact Jill or Karen (information below) when you register for Alpha to request childcare.
